Trump US ambassador to NATO dismisses Biden ‘bluster’ (video)

In a recent interview, U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Matt Whitaker, offered a strong endorsement of the military funding initiatives proposed by former President Donald Trump, dismissing President Joe Biden’s claims of European leaders seeking his engagement. Speaking on the Fourth of July, Whitaker highlighted the importance of the proposed $150 billion military funding package, which aims to bolster America’s naval fleet, enhance missile defense systems, and replenish weapon arsenals depleted by support to Ukraine.

Whitaker asserted that the allocation of resources is both strategic and necessary, particularly in light of ongoing global conflicts. He emphasized that air and missile defense capabilities are crucial, noting their decisive role in recent conflicts, such as Israel’s brief but intense conflict with Iran. He pointed out that the Golden Dome defense project is a vital asset not only for national security but also as a response to the growing military ambitions of China.

During the interview, Whitaker addressed Biden’s recent remarks at a convention in San Diego, where the President claimed to be receiving calls from European leaders urging him to become more involved in international affairs. Whitaker countered this by stating that during a recent NATO summit, it was Trump who commanded attention and leadership, asserting that Biden’s influence on European leaders is minimal at best. He confidently stated, “Donald Trump is the leader of the free world, and allies are looking to him to lead and set the tone.”

As the conversation shifted to the significance of patriotism, Whitaker reflected on how this sentiment shapes his role as NATO Ambassador. He noted that a significant portion of his team consists of military personnel, many of whom have served in challenging conditions for the United States. He expressed admiration for veterans and first-generation immigrants, highlighting their understanding of the unique promise that America represents.

Whitaker reminisced about the historical impact of American patriots, stating that the sacrifices made 249 years ago have contributed to a safer and freer world today. He looked ahead to the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence, which he believes will be a momentous occasion marked by national pride and celebration.

In closing, Whitaker reaffirmed his commitment to fostering strong alliances and ensuring that the U.S. remains at the forefront of global defense efforts. With a renewed focus on military readiness and international leadership, he conveyed a sense of optimism about the future of America’s role on the world stage, reiterating the importance of unity and patriotism in achieving these goals.
